Namibia Maritime Museum (NMM)

Occupying 2,500 square meters at five floors, NMM is the biggest museum in Namibia and the first-and-only maritime museum on the land. NMM is also the biggest and the most attractive maritime museum in Sub-Saharan Africa. Displays are anchored on Namibia’s maritime history in relation to the world maritime, mining of the seabed, fishing, Namibian Navy, sea salt production, offshore explorations, Namibia’s port facilities. The museum collection includes antique maps, sea landscape oil paintings, rare maritime postal stamps, navigational instruments and ship models made to scale. A part of the NMM is also well-resourced library, a souvenir and a coffee shop.
